customize your blog!

OK OK, I admit love css coding! WHY…not sure but I do. I fiddle with coding all the time to make my blog a little more me but I came to a point recently where I got stumped. I tried and tried to add a little post border image between posts but failed miserably. Many times I screwed up my stylesheet and jacked up my blog all together so after I fixed that part, I figured it was time to call in the BIG GUNS…the coding guru…Heather with LOVEBUGS PHOTOGRAPHY DESIGNS! And within in a matter of minutes…poof, there it was…my image post divider! And when I saw it it was like looking into my kids eyes for the first time (OK, many not that extreme but pretty darn close). LOL!!

We all know that blogs are the best way to share recent news, post sneak peeks from sessions or just to chat. If you are a photographer and don’t have a blog…it’s time to get one! And if you aren’t in business yet but plan to be…get a blog! WOM is the best advertising there is. I’ve had every blog under the sun, BLOGSPOT, TYPEPAD and finally WORDPRESS. Hands down, the WORDPRESS blog is the best (if you ask me). It displays nice BIG photos and it’s soooo incredibily easy to use. Once you decide on a blog, you want to customize it…make it your own, put your little stamp on it…this is where Heather comes in. She can customize your blog to fit you, your personality, your business. You just tell her want you want, then she works her magic. Maybe you don’t want to mess with installing a WORDPRESS blog to your site? Well, let Heather do it for you. Want a cool splash page…again, Heather is the girl for you! Anything that has to do with coding, she’s the one you want!

One more thing before I embarrass her is I LOVE her generousity! If you check out her blog, she shares her little tips about blogging. For example she links you to some places that you can replace those boring facebook and twitter icons with some fun ones. She also tells you what plug-ins are great to control spam and stuff. And the best part yet, she tells you how to do it all. Now, that is awesome!! You bet I’m going to do some of the stuff she has suggested.

Today is my last and final day to attempt Christmas card shots for our cards. If I get nothing (wich I think will happen), I’m throwing my hands up in the air and giving up. Our cards this year just may not have any photos at all. LOL!!
